Diary post #21 - *Race for Life 5K*

Dear Diary..

Today I did the 5k Race for Life with my mother in law, sister in law & her two daughters. It was Fantastic. this of course has been the first time I have done the event since June 2011, when my son was 5 months old, he will be 3 in September!!! :o

At 11.10am we crossed the starting line & began out 3 mile walk around Temple Newsam..
The atmosphere was just totally amazing & really got our adrenaline pumping!

Over 2,00o women entered the event today & in all honesty I half expected it to be hard work with me skipping out on the event last year, but it really wasn't, I truly believe now that walking & talking can get you somewhere fast! I was that busy gabbin with my mother in law that when we were just about approaching what I thought was the 2k mark it was in actual fact the 3k mark... I had totally missed the 2k mark with chatting so much ;)

At 12.32am me & my mother in law crossed the finishing line together, (my sister in law & her daughter had gone on ahead & finished before us) & my word it truly was an out of this world feeling to cross that finish line!! :D

After we had crossed the finish line we were given our medals & a well earned bottle of water along with a chocolate snack (Mmm) :p we then met up with the rest of the family & ended what had been a truly great day by travelling to Mcdonalds & grab ourselves some well earned late lunch!!

I truly believe that I did something great today & I will continue to fight for a cure for Cancer, but I also ADVOCATE for CHILDHOOD CANCER, which is also another case deeply close to my heart.

Thank you for reading bloggers...
until next time. Xxxx

#SHAVEDAY extras :)

Shave day part 1.

Shave day part 2.

I am utterly overwhelmed by all the support that I have received today for successfully completing my shave! thank you all so much :) it really does mean the world to me & it has truly shown me that not all people out there are up their own ass' & only tend to care about the attention surrounding themselves. I am so happy this evening & it's all thanks to you guys so once again thank you all so much.

Moving on... I have spent all evening trying to find a way that I could share my shave day video with you all & this seems to be the only way that I can do it! & beware, it's a rather long video, therefore it was too large for me to upload straight onto Youtube or Facebook.

ANYWAYS..... I have had to split the video into two parts but it's on here now, HURRAY! so I hope you all enjoy & feel free to leave your comments.
Thanks for watching :)

STOP CHILDHOOD cANCER. #shaveforthebrave 21.04.2013

Currently £260 raised for CHILDHOOD CANCER!! :)

Today I "Shaved for the Brave" Today I stood in solidarity with the kids fighting Cancer & also for the kids that have tragically last their battle. At 1pm this afternoon my family gathered at my husband's parents house to watch & support me whilst I shaved my head for charity. :) it was good fun & I have to say, I honestly do think that I totally rock the bald mamma look.

I also wanted this opportunity to thank EVERYBODY that supported me & donated, & for thos who haven't yet, it's not to late! Go to my link at the top of this post & give as little or as much as you can, every little counts! even if it's only £1, it all ups up & goes towards vital research in helping to find a cure for childhood cancer.

I have put together just a few pictures of today's shave & I would love it if you could take the time to look over them.. :) Thank you for reading..X

Braving My First Shave For Children With Cancer.

On 18th April 2013 I will be standing in solidarity with all the kids & I will be braving my first head shave to raise money for my chosen charity, Children with Cancer UK.

It would mean the world to me (& all the kid out there i'm sure) if you could go to my Just Giving page & donate as much or as little as possible, at the end of the day it all helps. I highly doubt you would miss a few pounds. Think about all the parents out there that are having to watch their children battle cancer, & all the parents that have lost their child to this disease, then think about if it was YOUR CHILD?!! i'm pretty sure then you'd pay anything right? so please, help me to help the kids with Cancer.

My Just Giving Link is as follows:

I will be creating a post after I have done my event & shaven all my hair off ;) so please keep posted & DONATE DONATE DONATE!!!!!!!!
